Winning strategies for a healthy weight gain


There’s a thing called a reality check, been underweight can lead to serious health issues just as been over weight. Not everyone desires to be on the weight loss journey and in truth everyone got diverse fitness goals.
Funny how when I try to preach the importance of engaging in physical, activity to relatively slim, skinny individuals they make a joke out of the whole preaching exercise . You hear stuffs like “ ohh no if I exercise I will disappear” or “ooh coach I have 6 packs even without exercise” and so they just prefer to eat up in the bid to add some weight  …. Hollup geng!!

What you do not know is that you can gain weight with exercise and some great nutrition advice.
I do not want to bore you with a lot of scientific jargon but lets start by saying if you are below a BMI of 18.5 , that’s been underweight and sure if its not a health related problem then it simply means you are not getting adequately nourished , genetics, or you might even be getting so much of an exercise than required.

Here is how to gain weight in a healthy way:
  1. Consume more calories than your body burns ,this simply means get to eat more food. Focus on nutrient dense meals that are high in calorie. 
  2. Eat about 5 to 6 small meals daily , stay away from binge and junk meals.
  3. Weight bearing exercises will help build some muscles , focus on adding more weights instead of more reps.  
  4. When protein supplementation  can be used if you are not getting adequate protein. Don’t forget protein is a muscle building block.
